Day 1: Every SUP lesson will be tailored to the individual’s physical and emotional present state. Instructions on correct posture, engaging your core using Maria’s famous SUP Therapy Technique, as well as turning techniques to make sure you are safe and having fun then and in the future! In addition to basic principles, we make sure that you are comfortable reading the Magic Maui Weather and Ocean. We’ll focus on getting you ready for day two, using drills to help you understand the difference between flat water and moving small waves.
Day 2: We take everything that you have learned from Day 1 especially the body flotation and get you into some small waves, location to be discussed on day 1! (Don’t forget to bring your own booties if you like)

Day2: A Stand Up Paddle Board lesson with a yoga twist! A Yoga instructor will lead you on an amazing experience using the SUP Board as your floating yoga mat. Using all the flotation you learned from the previous day, you’ll learn some yoga poses that are tailored to your physical needs and limitations, we’ll do pictures of all the poses in case you want to memorize your sequence or just share and show off!
Each lesson booked with us is private to your party and our instructor. Our lessons are the most exclusive because we do not combine reservations to create grouped lessons.

*Training for Races, Surfing bigger and more difficult waves, Downwind runs on different locations and conditions on Maui available too, EMAIL ME HERE….
*We provide all ocean equipment and hydration, you can bring your own hat, rash guard or shirt (no wetsuit needed, you’re in Hawaii!) booties (SUP Surf day only), if you like…Sunglasses or prescription glasses with leash ok, not allowed on SUP SURF day…

I have had a wonderful experience with the “2 Day-Nalu Fit”. As a complete SUP beginner, I felt like I was in the best hands with Maria to learn the right habits from the start. Maria truly stands out due to her extensive experience, her teaching skills and background as a physiotherapist.
On day 1, we started with dry land exercises using the hula hoop and bosu ball as a warm-up, before we went into the ocean. This allowed me to get a feel for the body position, how to keep my balance on the board, and for the paddle movement. Maria was immediately able to pinpoint what my mobility limiters and movement patterns from triathlon training standing in the way were and how to fix them. This gave me the opportunity to correct and progress more quickly than I would have otherwise. Going beyond technique, Maria also taught me about ocean safety, essentials to bring with you and the importance of continuously reading the wind and the waves. She patiently answered all my questions and encouraged me to ask more.
On day 2, I had the opportunity to establish deeper muscle memory, get more comfortable with the paddle movements and to keep balance in a bit less calm water with some small waves. Meeting me where I was in the journey and what I was ready to take on, allowed me to build greater confidence and have a lot of fun while learning. In addition, I experienced the unexpected benefits of yoga on a SUP board. It felt so good to do various yoga poses and it really helped me to “befriend” my board while balancing. Maria calls it the “magic carpet” and she truly has opened a new world for me. I am forever grateful that she has introduced me to this sport in such a great way and I look forward to continuing the journey of learning it.
A very nice touch is also that Maria is a great photographer and she has sent me pictures from the 2 days that will help to keep all the fun memories alive.
